Q: Who has the right to access technology?
A: EVERYONE
Overview
Everyone in the digital world has the right to equal access of techonology. Many low income schools or homes are have limited access to technology and often suffer with academic achievement. There are many resources that people are unaware of where users may use technology equipment in their local area. Teachers and schools write grants and ask for donations for all types of technology. We all must be advocates for the best opportunities for our young technology users. Your child should be using the technology provided by the school just as much as the person sitting next to them, or the same amount the classroom down the hall is using it. If your child receives accomodations in the classroom, they might also be eligible for technology accommodations. There are many assistive technology softwares and equipment available to those with disabilities. This page will lead you to resources your child may use in school, at home, or at community establishments.
